2027 Festival ‘Living Conversations:RS Thomas in Our Lives’

The Curious, Collectors, Readers, Writers, Artists, Seekers – come to be inspired.
The theme for 2027 is inspired by the latest book edited by Prof. Daniel Westover Converse: Reflections on RS Thomas, Self, Nation, and Spirit due to be published in Spring 2027 Y Lolfa. Sixteen essays on the ways that RS Thomas and his poetry is being experienced, influencing many lives long after his death.
The programme includes lectures, interviews, walks in nature, meditations, quiznight, poetry readings, music concert, Sunday service, Cymanfa Ganu & many conversations.
The 13th annual Poetry & Arts Festival celebrates RS Thomas & ME Eldridge in the Welsh coastal village of Aberdaron where he was vicar and she an artist.
The first festival was held in 2014. Since then we have been honoured to welcome distinguished speakers from the United Kingdom and the United States, including our patron Rowan Williams, the former Archbishop of Wales and Archbishop of Canterbury. The festival has sponsored fresh expressions of the poetry and art for new audiences. Our festival location in Aberdaron on the Llŷn Peninsula enables people to experience first-hand the landscapes that inspired the poetry of Thomas and the art of Eldridge.
The Annual Festival in Aberdaron is managed by the RS Thomas & ME Eldridge Society in its mission to bring together people with an appreciation of the literary and artistic works, music compositons, people and places associated with RS Thomas and ME Eldridge.

Mae thema 2027 wedi’i hysbrydoli gan y llyfr diweddaraf a olygwyd gan yr Athro Daniel Westover.
Converse: Reflections on RS Thomas, Self, Nation, and Spirit sydd i’w gyhoeddi yng ngwanwyn 2027 Y Lolfa. Un ar bymtheg o ysgrifau ar y ffyrdd y mae RS Thomas a’i farddoniaeth yn cael eu profi, gan ddylanwadu ar lawer o fywydau ymhell ar ôl ei farwolaeth.
Mae’r rhaglen yn cynnwys darlithoedd, cyfweliadau, teithiau cerdded natur, myfyrdodau, noson gwis, darlleniadau barddoniaeth, cyngerdd cerdd, gwasanaeth dydd Sul, Cymanfa Ganu a llawer o sgyrsiau gyda phobl eraill.
Bydd 13eg Gŵyl flynyddol o Farddoniaeth a Chelf yn dathlu RS Thomas ac ME Eldridge yn cael ei chynnal yn Aberdaron, y pentref ym mhen draw Llŷn ble roedd ef yn ficer a hithau’n arlunydd.
Cynhaliwyd yr ŵyl gyntaf yn 2014. Ers hynny mae wedi bod yn fraint croesawu siaradwyr enwog o’r Deyrnas Unedig a’r Unol Daleithiau, gan gynnwys ein noddwr Rowan Williams, cyn Archesgob Caergaint. Mae’r ŵyl wedi hybu mynegiant gwahanol o farddoniaeth a chelf ar gyfer cynulleidfaoedd newydd. Gyda’r ŵyl yn cael ei chynnal yn Aberdaron ym Mhen Llŷn, bydd pobl yn cael blas o’r tirweddyn a fu’n ysbrydoli barddoniaeth Thomas a chelf Eldridge. Erbyn hyn mae’r Ŵyl yn cael ei rheoli gan Gymdeithas RS Thomas & ME Eldridge. Rhan allweddol o’i chenhadaeth yw dod â phobl sydd yn gwerthfawrogi gweithiau llenyddol ac artistig, cyfansoddiadau cerddorol, y bobl a’r lleoedd sy’n gysylltiedig â RS Thomas a ME Eldridge, ynghyd.
